Welcome to the Newly Redesigned Home of the ISS

If you’ve been here before then you’ll find much has changed, and if this is your fist time visiting the site then we hope you find our new home welcoming. Students of design understand that an object’s design (whether architectural, practical, or digital) is not about aesthetic concerns only, or an idealized elegance, it is primarily about empathetic utility. We hope our newly redesigned home will be of use to you, as much as we hope that it will prove useful in our efforts to model a new form of discourse.

If you are a current member of the ISS, then you have access to our evolving online journal The Abeng. However, if you are not a member, The Gumbé, our blog, not only includes news and updates about the institute’s current activities, but access to select scholarship and unique content intended for anyone curious about our various research activities.
